![]() I think it’s mainly for those of us who have contemplated and understand the nuances of countless nights of intoxicated madness, even while in the murky and uncertain depths of an alcoholic binge. There is an undeniably personal reason for why people like myself may appreciate this album more than others. ![]() It’s also hands down my favorite album of the year, and it’s bound to stay in that spot for a number of reasons. It’s my introduction to the artist’s work, and a perfect one for a funk lover who loves a touch of melancholia in his music. Thundercat’s third and latest album, Drunk, takes us on a journey down the “Rabbot Ho,” as the titular Todd Rundgren-esque intro invites us, to a place of melancholy and occasionally manic drunkenness.
